Balance Dance Center Performance Groups

BDC offers a variety of classes from pre-dance for four year olds to modern dance for advanced dancers and dance movement for adults. The variety of dance genres offered provides each student with the opportunity to become well rounded and balanced artists.

The Performance Groups are by invitation only.

Senior Company

Balance Dance Center’s Senior Company is the studio’s premier pre-professional concert dance ensemble for dedicated artists committed to technical excellence, creativity, and performance. Rooted in the traditions of concert dance, company members engage in rigorous training, collaborative creative processes, and the performance of original contemporary works that challenge, inspire, and connect with audiences. Senior Company dancers are held to the highest standards of artistry, discipline, professionalism, and leadership while cultivating their unique artistic voices. Through performances at dance festivals, concert productions, and community events, members gain meaningful stage experience and represent Balance Dance Center with excellence. The program is designed to prepare aspiring dancers for collegiate dance programs, conservatories, and professional careers in the performing arts.

Junior Company

Balance Dance Junior Company offers students the opportunity to explore movement through collaboration and creativity as they grow in confidence, self-esteem, and discipline. Junior Company members are ambassadors of love, dance, and artistic expression. Inclusivity, diversity, and respect for one another are some of our most important guiding principles. Students are empowered through movement to find their own voice as they also celebrate the voice of others. Dancers in the company perform throughout the year at dance festivals and public events in multiple performance venues. Company members have been selected for notable awards and programs including: a 2020 Young Arts winner, the Alvin Ailey Summer Dance Intensive, the Broadway Dance Center Junior Training Program, and study in the dance program at Temple University.

Training Company

The Balance Dance Training Company prepares our younger dancers (11-13) to join the Junior Company. Training Company members are dancers who demonstrate a  love of dance and would like to challenge themselves to a more serious approach to training. These dancers are offered performance opportunities beyond the annual recital in an effort to strengthen their dance technique and expand their performance experience.

1 Luv Dance Crew

The 1 Luv Dance Crew spreads love, hope, and optimism through hip-hop dance. Our dances convey positive messages to our audiences while nurturing self-confidence and self-awareness in each dancer. Dancers will have opportunities to perform in dance videos and at special events in our community.

Mini 1 Luv Crew

Mini 1Luv Crew spreads love and optimism through hip-hop dance for dancers who are 6-12 years old. Our dances convey positive messages to our audiences while nurturing self-confidence and self-awareness in each dancer. Dancers will have opportunities to perform at special events in our community and our annual company showcase.
